OH BOY.
It’s the legendary wind master himself blessing us with his presence! Hmm what is there to share. I can definitely say that Jet plays a VERY important role in this story. Naturally, as it’s Babylon themed, the game could not stand without him.
In Sattk, you’re going to learn a lot about the ancient empire of Babylon and about Jet’s ancestors. I do have to say though that we’re going to deviate a little bit from the Babylon history that is given to us in the sonic riders games. Instead we’re sticking a lot closer to the ACTUAL history of babylon. Like the real world’s babylon. Because our writer is a massive history nerd. So not only are you going to learn more about jet’s past, you’re also gonna get some ACTUAL history lessons (with a hint of added magic and sci-fi).

I went to check it out! It really still looks quite unfinished but I hope they get around to working on it some more.
I’m interested in what options cloud novel gives them because when I checked it out I felt like it was not nearly as customizable as I wanted it to be. Which is why I went with the Visual Novel Maker in the end.
But great games can be made with any software. So we’ll just have to wait and see UwU.
But yes it’s definitely quite different from Sattk in style and story. So PHEW.

You’ll have to be patient until next monday until you get more information on which OCs there will be and such.
BUT! I can tell you that they will be playing minor roles in the VN and you will be able to talk to them. Some will even be quest givers. It’s important to me to make the world of my visual novel as lively as possible. OCs may be appearing in background art or CG art as well as having character sprites that you’ll be able to talk to.
I could have probably filled the world with canon characters only, but I’ve always been a huge fan of everyone’s amazing OCs and I want to give them a stage if I can. Though of course we can also not put ALL the OCs into the game, which is sad. We’ll be picking the ones that suit the available roles best.

To question 1:
To make it simple I’ll give you rough percentages.
The writing is about 80% done.
The art about 5%
The animations 20%
The Music 80%
The UI 20%
And the testing of game mechanics is about 40% done <3
So while the project is well underway there is still lots to do, especially on the art front. If I can manage it I would love to release the full game in about one year from now, after the Sonic movie comes out. How realistic that is, however, I have no idea. After all this is a non-profit hobby project, and no matter how much love I put into it I still have to earn money with my normal job on the side. I can only promise to do my best!
To question2:
I’m using Degica’s “Visual Novel Maker”
Degica is also the company who made RPG Maker, so you might know them. I’ve decided on this engine after testing out several others, and found Visual Novel Maker the best suited for my project. It’s definitely got its problems, as it’s still under development, but it’s easy to use and allows you to customize just about EVERYTHING without much trouble. Like making custom menu screens, or adding menus, mini games etc. It also comes with a huge Help library that teaches you step by step how to use everything, and the community is very active, so it’s easy to find answers to your questions online even if the software is still relatively new.
