This is a post talking about the Setting of Sattk - Before the Fall (the tech demo)
The plot of the tech demo and the source of the evil you fight in the main game both lie within the confines of the glorious city of Babylon. Thousands of years before Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends fight their ongoing battle against Eggman.
In fact the 3000 BC in the header image refers to 3000 years before the Chaos incident wiped out nearly the entirety of the Echidnas.
In a time that long most of Babylon’s history was destroyed of lost. But fact is it was once the capital of the greatest empire in all of Mobius. It was founded by travellers who came from the stars in search of a new homeworld and riches. Their technology was so far advanced compared to that of the ancient mobians that they were readily accepted as deities. What they really were, no one knows. Maybe they were gods or maybe they were mortals from another world.
Their technology anyway made Babylon the great city it was. They were capable of harvesting the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity. Powering the entire city and a wide array of weapons with unrivalled destructive force. Suddenly mobians were able to travel the skies, have electric light during the dark hours, and create moving and thinking creatures out of mere rocks.
This glorious and magical city is yours to explore (to a point) in the demo.
Now I’m sure you noticed that Sattk’s Babylon does not exactly match to 100% with the Babylon in the official Sonic games.
We’re deliberately taking some liberties here. We’re for example completely ignoring the whole “We’re descendants of real Genies” part of Sonic Riders canon. There’s no Genies happening in Sattk. However the hanging gardens of Babylon are still a space ship,a powerplant and a weapon. We’ve redesigned the thing a little but it’s still close enough to its appearance in the Riders games.
We’ve also taken some liberty with Babylon’s energy source. In canon the hanging gardens are powered by an artificial black hole. In Sattk the black hole engine is still a thing but it lies dormant and is only used for space travel or to transform the gardens into a weapon. The main energy source which the city of Babylon uses to power the whole city are the sun sails attached to the gardens.
They resemble wings or feathers but really they’re translucent solar panels harvesting the sun’s energy directly and without being in danger of lethal instabilities.
All in all we wanted to stick close to the human Babylonians in this sense because they worshipped the sun above all else. Their symbol of the sun is synonymous with their highest god. Thus, we decided to make the sun a crucial element in every aspect of the game.

Sonic and the True King - Sonic’s Theme
It’s the middle of the week! So here’s the second custom piece of music Cleffy created for us! It’s a fantastic Sonic nostalgia medley and I’m not gonna lie I’ve been listening to this on repeat while drawing for the game. It will serve as Sonic’s own theme song and the Green Hill Zone theme. I cannot stress enough how much I’m personally in love with this song.

SATTK - Before the Fall Protagonist reveal!
In Sonic and the True King - Before the Fall, you slip into the non-existant shoes of a crafty little Urchin. One of the many original characters we created for this story! Your entire 8 years of life, you’ve spent in the slums of a glorious city. Feeding off of what the rich threw away.
But there is something about you that makes you different from other kids on the street. And one fateful day, you meet the one person who is willing to see past your dirty rags, and gives you a chance to prove yourself.
Play your cards right and you may just be able to find a welcoming home for a stray kitten like you… and more!

“SATTK - Before the Fall” Tech Demo Release
Yes, you read correctly! We are VERY happy to announce that SATTK has a present for you all.
In early 2019 (exact date tba.), we will be releasing the SATTK Tech Demo, “Sonic and the True King - Before the Fall”!!!
It will show off some of the game mechanics that are unique to SATTK, like the fighting system and one of the different puzzle types. But also visual novel typical things, such as branching storylines based upon player choices and an affection points system (sort of… it’s not exactly ‘affection’ you’re earning, but for a lack of a better description let’s call it that for now).
All that will be wrapped up nicely in a little stand-alone story that is loosely connected to the main game’s plot. More information on the demo will be coming in the next weeks, such as who the demo’s protagonist is, and which setting you’ll be playing in.
For now we would like to give a big thank you to the following people who’s OC’s will appear in the demo! The following lovely OCs will also be posted to this blog after this post here goes up. So keep your peepers peeled!

The same OCs might also re-appear in the finished game in some capacity.
Thank you again for your support, without your beautiful characters the world of Mobius would be a bland and empty one. We sincerely hope you will like the way your characters have been portrayed in the game.
On that note we still need some Villagers. So please keep sending in your lovely children <3
WELCOME TO GREEN HILL ZONE
Since we’ve shown you some character art now, we figured, you’d be interested in the look of the world. And as a loving homage to all the Sonic games we love, we’ve decided the first you should see is the Green Hill Zone.
Now, this background differs from the other Game Backgrounds in a way. Usually when making environmental art there should be a ‘path’ of some sort leading the viewer into the picture as if you opened a door and looked into a painted world. It should ideally give you the feeling that you can just take a step and you’ll be inside the drawing.
However with the Green Hill Zone we wanted to stay true to the side-scrolling platformer aesthetic, so all paths in this drawing lead from the left to the right, instead of INTO the picture.

Now that we’re getting all these lovely OCs from you (and boy, oh boy, are we LOVING your OCs \*O*/), we want to share some official art as well.
Aside from you, the Protagonist, the game has a total of 13 main characters, 6 of which we want to share with you.
These 6 are of course:

Jet
and Shadow.
You’re gonna be getting one of them every week but in which order?

Legend of the Sky Amulet - Part 2 + Quiz
As mentioned in Part 1 of the legend the Sky Amulet is powered by six gems. These Gems are called the Sky Shards and each of them represents a trait of the god who created them. On their own the Sky Shards have little magical power, but when they are combined into the Sky Amulet even the greatest foes can be beaten.
The Six Sky Shards are:
In Sonic and the True King each Sky Shard is represented and carried by one of the first six heroes. Knuckles, Jet, Shadow, Tails, Silver and Sonic. Can you guess which gem corresponds with which hero?
And more importantly, would you like to find out which Sky Shard represents YOU?
Well wonder no more! Because we’ve created a personality test for you, to find out which Shard would be yours. Until then keep guessing which hero goes with which gem. We’re going to post the solution on Friday!

SATTK is recruiting OCs
The world of mobius is a big one. And your adventures will take you to the far corners of the world, undoubtedly meeting many people.
A world that big needs it’s denizens.
Does your OC live on Mobius? Then we want to see them!
Here is a list of roles to fill. If your OC happens to fit one or several of them, then feel free to read the rules beneath the cut and apply. <3
We’re casting:
- 10 x female villager (age does not matter)
- 10 x male villager (age does not matter)
- 3 x Bar visitor (must be of legal drinking age)
- 2 x Eggman Staff
- 2 x Rich folks (any gender, but must be adults)
- 3 x Butler/Maids (any gender, but must be adults)
- 1 x Skilled fighter (any gender, but must be an adult)
- 1 x Cleric (female)
So in total we’re casting 32 OCs to fill our world with.
