Does Blaze count as multiverse mentions? Because Blaze is definitely in the game. We’re not gonna go into the Archie world though. (Sadly because I really love Scourge but having archie canon for this game would make it too complicated)

And the Tech demo is about 30% done, by which I mean the writing is done. It’s just the art that takes a while, once the art is there it’s just a matter of putting it all together. <3 But it’s getting there. >w<

How immortal is technically immortal?  Sayyyy all of mobius just died. would they survive? Cuz, man, good for them!!!

Immortal OCs are only sad when they’re put into a romance with a mortal character. Otherwise??? Good! Isn’t it the best if  your OC can’t die?

If you’re asking if we can use an immortal OC in the game?…. mmm I don’t see why not? They’d just be really really unhappy and lonely after any of the big bad endings.

Sonic and the True King and its Demo are Visual Novel games UwU

I assume since it’s a Visual Novel you could say it’s sort of first person, yes.

The battle system is somewhat of an experiment. I haven’t seen many VNs with battle systems, and the few I have seen have replaced the battles with mini-games like bubble shooters.

Our Battle system is decision based. Imagine it like reading an adventure novel that gives you free reign of the main character during the action scenes, but depending on what you decide the other characters react and the outcome of the battle changes.

Some features that we’re going to test for practicality in the demo later are, a persistent healthbar that basically records your ‘mistakes’ during battle. (Mistakes in airquotes here because not every time you can get injured is a mistake. Sometimes it’s what you -have to do- to achieve a specific outcoome)
The injuries then carries on into the next fight and so on and so on. Options to be healed are limited and losing all your health results in Game Over.

Status effects like ‘bleeding’ and ‘poison’ are also something we’re testing.

And the last feature we’re only testing so far are timed responses. Which is basically the Visual Novel equivalent to quicktime events. That’s roughly the concept of the battle system. But as I said we’re still testing things out so it might change until the demo comes out.

Hello!!

We’re an insanely small team. There’s me, the mod of this blog, who’s also the writer, main artist and programmer (if you can call it that), then there is the extremely talented @doublecleffmusic who is in charge of as much custom music as we can afford. And then we have a third person who may or may not do art for the game, depending on how busy she’ll be with her actual job. And then we have some friends supporting us by giving us input in the story or helping us work out quests.
One additional team member would be our voice actor for Silver the Hedgehog who’s going to voice the intro of the game UwU

Now, our musician, Cleffy, doesn’t need to be anonymous and in fact you should all go check their stuff out. We’re going to be posting some custom music on this blog soon so you can see what their work is like. But really, check ‘em out. They’re just about to release a new album UwU

Myself and the other artist would like to remain anonymous. Mostly to keep our artist names out of the search engines for reasons related to our actual jobs <3

Our friends will of course remain anonymous as well.

And we will announce our voice actor once that is all confirmed and figured out and paid for >W<

Well this is a non-profit game and since we own no rights to the sonic characters, the OCs or the world of mobius, we cannot legally make money with this game. However making a visual novel is never cheap.

Well actually now that you mention it, one thing we’re aiming to test with the demo is the hosting website. There’s currently three we’re looking at. Those being:

All three allow the hosting of fangames such as this one. So they would be suitable. However the demo will feature a small optional survey at the end where you can tell us how you liked the hosting site. We’ll make sure to look further into the options, though, and make a proper announcement at some point.

The full game is still going to be featured on several websites to make it easier.

Regarding release dates. Not at all. The Demo will most likely come out between january and february 2019 sometime.

The full game hower… We would LIKE TO finish the game by the time the Sonic Movie comes out in November 2019. So in about a year from now on. Ideally we’d even like for the Beta testing to be done by then.  However it is still almost impossible to say how realistic that will be.

Well I mean considering it’s a -Sonic- game it had to have been inspired by Sonic in general right? So I can’t claim it was my idea originally.

But in general yes. Sattk has a lot of different inspirations. For example the storybook series, like Sonic and the Black knight and Sonic and the secret rings, which probably explains the style of this game’s title.

And then of course there’s the Sonic Riders games which deal with the Babylon theme which we’re REALLY gonna get into in sattk. And then of course there’s Sonic Forces which inspired the anonymous protagonist.

Aside from that the story is still entirely ours and since Visual novels are so overused for dating games we wanted to make something that has no dating in it at all. Just a good old Sonic adventure!!!
