Well I mean considering it’s a -Sonic- game it had to have been inspired by Sonic in general right? So I can’t claim it was my idea originally.
But in general yes. Sattk has a lot of different inspirations. For example the storybook series, like Sonic and the Black knight and Sonic and the secret rings, which probably explains the style of this game’s title.
And then of course there’s the Sonic Riders games which deal with the Babylon theme which we’re REALLY gonna get into in sattk. And then of course there’s Sonic Forces which inspired the anonymous protagonist.
Aside from that the story is still entirely ours and since Visual novels are so overused for dating games we wanted to make something that has no dating in it at all. Just a good old Sonic adventure!!!

No worries at all!
The short version is: No, this is not an RP blog, and Yes, we’re making an actual game. And there is going to be a tech demo (A small stand-alone game that shows off the the main game’s gameplay features and such) early next year <3
The game is going to be a Visual Novel, and the OCs that we’re casting will become background characters or even quest givers in the world of our VN. We didn’t want to create a bunch of random OCs in a community like this where people are super creative and everyone has such lovely characters. It just made sense to us to cast them instead of making our own. (though we have some original characters of our own in the game too) <3
I’m sorry the blog was confusing to you we get a surprising amount of asks… hm. Actually you have a really good point. I’ll make a tag for development posts and one for answers to asks and link them properly. Maybe I should write an FAQ. Thank you for bringing this to my attention! <3

this is a bit of an… ‘out of the order’-post, but I’ve just had a thought.
The Expression sheets we’re making would probably work really well for RP blogs and such. (*points up at the Tails image*)
Do you have an RP blog?
Or a friend who has one? Maybe you’re just in an active RP with someone else? Let me know if that’s something you’d be interested in. Because I wouldn’t mind cutting the expressions down to a better size and making them available for download for you guys. (Once they’re all done of course)

Also I could NOT agree more. The OCs are all SO lovely. I wish I could just post them all right now. I love them so much! I’m really happy we decided to fill the VN world with OCs because I get to see so many great characters now. It’s just delightful.

Honestly, I can’t say that for sure yet. While most of the game is written already, I know from experience that a bunch of the dialogue is going to change while it’s being put into the actual game. So it’s very possible. Actually I think I wrote one scene like that into the Demo, already.
